What’s all this fuss?

It’s about doing-it-yourself. Fixing it. Swapping it. There are plenty of alternatives to consumption. And when you do buy something, do it consciously. Don’t let yourself get lost in the whirlwind of consumerism. Think about what you throw into your shopping cart, why you’re buying it, for whom, and what the consequences of your purchases are. Find out what type of world your money is creating.

For years we’ve been looking for the most socially responsible and ecologically-sound means of living. If we look beyond our doorstep, we’ll quickly find out that Warsaw becomes a playground for our positive actions: markets with locally-sourced food, second-hand stores, balconies and community gardens which are just begging us to start planting, and above all, people willing to get involved. Let’s make use of the knowledge of all the generations around us. Because consumer awareness is nothing new. It’s not too hard either. During the „Dekonsumpcja” festival weekend you’ll find out what alternatives to consumption are out there and why it’s worth getting involved.

eFTe Warsaw, in cooperation with the DocReview festival, Cafe Kulturalna, Dramatyczny Theatre, and club Plan B invite you to the second annual festival celebrating consumer awareness. You’re in for a weekend full of activities, debates, and collaborative meetings to find new ways of breaking old habits and becoming aware consumers.
